GMC Plants Seeds of Sustainability: 2,000 Mangrove Seedlings Planted in Lapu-Lapu City
As part of our continued commitment to environmental stewardship and community partnership, General Milling
Corporation (GMC) proudly held a Mangrove Planting Activity last March 29, 2025, in Brgy. Suba-Basbas, Lapu-
Lapu City, in collaboration with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Lapu-Lapu.
This meaningful initiative is one of GMC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts aimed at contributing to
climate action and promoting ecological balance in coastal communities. With the participation of employee
volunteers and in coordination with CENRO, a total of 2,000 mangrove seedlings were planted, reinforcing our
role in supporting marine biodiversity, improving coastal protection, and fighting the effects of climate change.
The mangrove ecosystem plays a vital role in shielding our shorelines from erosion, serving as a breeding ground
for marine species, and absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. By helping restore and preserve these
coastal forests, GMC takes an active step toward creating a greener and more sustainable future for the
generations to come.

Together, we save lives. Together, we make a difference.
This activity reflects our core values of Malasakit, Teamwork, and Excellence—bringing together employees and
community partners in an effort that goes beyond business, and into the heart of nation-building and
environmental care.

Together, we save lives. Together, we make a difference.

Together, we save lives. Together, we make a difference.
GMC extends its heartfelt thanks to CENRO Lapu-Lapu and Brgy. Suba-Basbas for their warm support and
collaboration. We also salute all our volunteers for lending their time, effort, and heart to make this activity a
success.
Together, we continue to plant not just seedlings, but hope—for our planet, our people, and our future.
